Forward Deployed Engineering

# Turn your expertise into **repeatable revenue.**

Forward-deployed engineers need something to forward-deploy.

Package your consultancy’s domain knowledge as reusable solutions that your clients’ applications and AI agents can use. Deploy them on Orbital with each client’s data, so your teams can deliver value without a long integration project for every engagement.

## Your clients want AI **in production.**

Your clients are under pressure to turn AI pilots into working solutions. Even with a capable model, connecting agents safely to the systems and data they need takes work. Your team faces that same job at every new client.

With Orbital, your team brings a solution it can deploy again: your domain model and queries, connected to each client’s systems and available to their agents through MCP. Orbital enforces access policies on every call.

Build a business around what you know

## Your next engagement should **start further ahead.**

You already know the domain. Capture that knowledge in a model your teams can deploy again, instead of leaving it buried in the last client’s implementation.

- ### Build IP you can reuse

Turn your understanding of a sector’s concepts, relationships and business rules into a reusable foundation. Develop it across engagements and bring it to the next client.

- ### Keep the valuable delivery work

Your team leads the implementation, adapts the solution and works with the client on outcomes. Orbital supplies the integration runtime underneath it and maintains the plumbing, so your engineers spend their time on the client’s problem.

- ### Earn beyond the first deployment

Build an offer around licensing your solution, delivering it and extending it over time. Reusing the foundation gives you room to grow revenue without rebuilding it for every client.

How it works

## Your expertise. Their data. **One working solution.**

Your solution is written in Taxi, an open-source language (Apache 2), so the IP stays yours. Orbital is the runtime that puts it to work.

Taxi projects keep the reusable domain model separate from each client’s systems. Deploy them together on Orbital to put your solution to work against live data.

- ### Package your expertise

Describe the business concepts, relationships and queries your solution needs in Taxi projects. Version them as the reusable IP behind your offering.

- ### Bring the client’s data

The client, supported by your team, describes their APIs, databases and feeds in separate Taxi projects. Apply your shared semantic types so their systems speak the language of your solution.

- ### Deploy and deliver

Deploy both sets of projects on Orbital in the client’s environment. Orbital plans and executes the calls needed to answer your queries, with access policies enforced as it runs.

- ### Reuse for the next client

Bring the same foundation to another engagement. Connect that client’s systems and adapt the business rules where needed, while developing the shared solution over time.

Example · Finance consultancy

## One finance model. **A portfolio of clients.**

A consultancy specialising in financial close packages its model of accounts, entities, balances and reporting periods, together with the queries used to assemble a close report.

For each client, the team describes the ledgers and finance systems using those shared concepts. Orbital assembles the required data, while the consultants focus on reconciliation, exceptions and the client’s reporting requirements.

The next client brings a different set of systems. The consultancy brings the finance model and reporting work it has already built.

Your engineers work closely with clients to put your domain expertise into production. With Orbital, they start from a reusable solution and a ready-made integration runtime, then focus on the systems, rules and outcomes specific to that client.

The semantic types, models, service descriptions, policies and queries that describe your solution. Taxi is the language used to define them; Orbital is the runtime that uses those definitions to connect to systems and execute queries. Your applications and specialist services can sit alongside it.

No. Each client describes their own sources and connects them to the shared business concepts your solution uses. That initial modelling and any client-specific rules still need work, but your team can reuse the domain model and queries rather than rebuild every integration.

You can keep the reusable domain projects separate from the client’s system descriptions and extensions. This supports an offering where you license your reusable IP and the client retains their data and client-specific work. Ownership and reuse rights are agreed in your client contracts.

You can build a commercial offer around solution licensing, implementation, ongoing support and domain work. Reusing the underlying projects can also support delivery priced around outcomes. Your consultancy defines the offer and leads the engagement.

No. Orbital can run in each client’s environment and query their existing systems. Reusing your Taxi projects across clients does not require pooling their data. Access policies are enforced within each deployment.

You could wire up the first client yourselves. The cost comes at the second and third: every client’s systems are different, and hand-built integrations have to be rebuilt and maintained for each one. Orbital builds and maintains that integration from your Taxi model, so what you build once keeps working across clients.

Taxi is open source under the Apache 2 licence. Your models, types and queries are yours, in an open format you can take with you. Orbital is the runtime that executes them.

## Start with the expertise **your clients already buy.**

Bring a solution you deliver today and a workflow you want to repeat. Let’s look at what belongs in your reusable IP, what changes for each client, and how Orbital can support the delivery.
